Solar Panels and The Environment | The Future Generation of Renewable Energy

Our world is incredible. Its natural beauty ceases to amaze us, while sustaining all life. However, despite its benefits, modern life is a threat to the world we love. Our carbon footprint grows larger every year. One way you can help the environment is by installing solar panels on your home or business.

Is Solar Good for the Environment?

The full environmental impact of solar panels has just recently come to light, and the results are incredible. For instance, one huge problem with burning fossil fuels—how we get our energy today—is the air pollution it creates. The emission of greenhouse gasses from these fossil fuels causes a wide range of detrimental effects, including air pollution and climate change. Plus, in 2008 the U.S. Energy Information Administration found that over 0.2 billion metrics tons of carbon dioxide was emitted worldwide.

Solar Helps Reduce CO2 Emissions

While the energy we regularly consume has many harmful problems, the average home with solar panels installed prevents 135 tons of CO2 from entering the atmosphere over a 25-year time span. In Connecticut, the amount of solar panels has caused the same rate of reducing emissions as planting 155 trees every year. Imagine the effect this would have if everyone pitched in. The effect on climate change would go down, and people would be able to breathe more freely, without harmful emissions causing respiratory problems.

Solar Helps Conserve Other Natural Resources

Pollution from carbon fuels doesn’t just pollute the air. Many people do not realize that traditional power plants need tons and tons of water to meet cooling requirements. This pollutes local water resources along with straining local supplies. Solar energy has no such issue. It allows businesses to function in a clean and productive way that doesn’t hurt the local people.

Solar is Here to Stay

But here’s the best part of the deal—solar energy won’t run out anytime soon. Along with being detrimental to the planet, fossil fuels are finite. Despite consuming more and more every day, our fossil fuels aren’t replenishing. However, the sun and all its energy has more than enough to spare. If there was a way to harness all of the sun’s energy shining on earth for only one hour, we could power the entire world for a year! Solar panels aren’t quite good enough to harness this much energy, but they do capture a tremendous amount. We would never run out of energy, using the resources the earth has already given us to power our modern world.

To help the environment it takes as many people—and panels—as possible. Ready to lend a hand? Contact CRJ Contractors to start making a difference.
